Job Scam
Fake job offers requiring upfront payment, task-based earning schemes, and fraudulent recruitment portals.
How This Scam Works
- 1You receive an unsolicited message about a high-paying job opportunity
- 2The job involves simple tasks: liking videos, rating products, or data entry
- 3They pay small amounts initially to build trust
- 4Eventually you're asked to make a deposit or pay for training/materials
- 5Your deposit is never returned, and the 'employer' disappears
Red Flags to Watch For
- Job offer received via WhatsApp, Telegram, or SMS without applying
- No formal interview process
- Required to pay money to start working
- Unrealistically high pay for simple tasks
- Vague company details or no verifiable website
What to Do If You're a Victim
- Never pay money to get a job
- Research the company thoroughly before engaging
- Report fake job listings to the platform
- File a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in or with local authorities
